Our Mission: Connecting Orthopaedic Surgeons
The
Slovenian Orthopaedic Society (SOS) was founded in 1993
in the wake of the nation’s independence. It was created
on the basis of the former Federal Orthopaedic and
Traumatologic Association (JUOT) as a section of the
Slovenian Medical Association, under whose patronage it
still functions.
The SOS’s
mission is to connect and bring together orthopaedic
surgeons involved in the treatment of musculoskeletal
disorders, and members are offered educational and
organizational support throughout their entire career.
Its regular meetings provide an excellent forum for
members to exchange new ideas and suggestions in
relation to doctrinal and organizational dilemmas, thus
forming the basis for inter-centric collaboration.
The
online resources provided to members allow them to stay
informed as to all the SOA’s activities, while its
website provides links to other national and
international orthopaedic organizations, as well as
other sections of Slovenian Medical Association and
their educational, scientific and social events.
Regular SOS Meetings: Providing information on pertinent
topics
The SOS
organizes expert meetings for its members at least twice
a year. These well attended practice-focused events
cover the most recent developments in the field, while
at the same time Slovene experts and international guest
speakers invariably initiate excellent discussions.
Members also appreciate the SOA’s arrangement of joint
meetings with other professional associations.
SOS Congress: Getting together
Every
four years the SOS organizes a Congress in one of
Slovenia’s well-known spas or resorts; in a friendly and
genial atmosphere, these events bring together the
country’s orthopaedic surgeons, foreign guest speakers,
delegates from other orthopaedic societies as well as
companies and others involved in the sector. Special
attention is given to the recognition of work and the
achievements of younger fellows and researchers within
the community.
Slovenia’s orthopaedic surgeons look forward to
welcoming you at the next SOS Congress and sharing your
experience. |
